Our approach is client-centered, drawing from modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), the Gottman Method, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and others. These modalities help clients explore their thoughts, behaviors, emotions, and relationships in a supportive and collaborative environment. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and PTSD symptoms. Ongoing research supports positive clinical outcomes showing EMDR therapy as a helpful treatment for disorders such as anxiety, depression, OCD, chronic pain, addictions, and other distressing life experiences. 

Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) is a trauma-focused therapy that addresses early nervous system responses tied to traumatic and emotionally triggering experiences. By targeting deep brain processes, DBR helps reduce emotional reactivity and support nervous system regulation. DBR can complement other evidence-informed treatments, including EMDR therapy, traditional talk therapy, and attachment-based approaches. Used together, these modalities may enhance trauma recovery and emotional healing. DBR may be used as a standalone therapy or integrated with EMDR based on individual treatment goals.

We understand the importance of affordability for individuals seeking mental health support. We accept various insurance plans to help cover the cost of therapy sessions. Our cancellation policy requires clients to provide at least 24 hours' notice if they need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This advance notice allows us to offer the time slot to another client in need of support.

If a client fails to provide the required notice or misses an appointment without communicating beforehand, they may be subject to a cancellation fee. We understand that emergencies and unforeseen circumstances can arise, so exceptions to this policy may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

We believe that therapy should be accessible to everyone, for this reason Transcending Counseling reserves a limited number of reduced fee appointments based on a sliding fee scale. Please inquire if you may be eligible.
